Cosmetic labels often come with a specialized set of cosmetic labeling laws. By law you must identify the manufacturer or distributor on the cosmetic label and have a way to reach them. Cosmetic ingredients must be listed on your label in the order they appear in your formula. The ingredients must be identified by their botanical name. The department of weights and measures requires the actual weight of the cosmetic product in both standard and metric to be displayed on the label. In many cases a type of label material you use with depends on the content of your package and how its filled.
