President's Profile Robert Barash, president of Multi-Services Strategy, Inc., (MSS), spent most of his business career in various strategic and marketing positions in the cosmetic and fragrance industry. In the mid sixties, Mr. Barash joined Prince Matchabelli, rising to an executive sales position before leaving to join Helena Rubinstein. After two years as a regional manager at Rubinstein, Mr. Barash became Vice President of Sales. A general managership with Brosse, U. S. A., the French perfume bottle manufacturer, followed. There he was responsible for building and strengthening this prestigious company's position in the U. S. market. In December 1982, Mr. Barash joined Parfums Jacomo, Inc. where he served as Executive Vice President and General Manager for one year prior to being named President of the U. S. company in January 1984. Using his marketing and sales expertise, the company grew both in volume and prestige and became the U. S. distributor for other French fragrance and cosmetic products; among these the Rochas Paris fragrance collections and the Pierre Fabre lines of Elancyl and Rene Furterer. Multi-Services Strategy was formed by Mr. Barash in 1986. MSS provides services for the cosmetic and fragrance industry in the areas of general management, sales management, financial services, product and package development, marketing, merchandising, and export management. The firm works with such clients as Liz Claiborne Cosmetics, Erno Laszlo - Parfums International, Terme Di Saturnia, Paul Sebastian, Stern Fragrances, Muehlens, Bronnley of London, and Apple Cosmetics. Currently on the board of directors and immediate past president of ICMAD (Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors), a national trade association with 750 members, Mr. Barash co-founded the Cosmetic Index, a unique Internet site, in 1996. The Index, the only one of its kind for the cosmetic industry, is an on line directory of suppliers and a source of information to the cosmetic, fragrance and personal care products industry. |
